Central Sterile Processing Technician

12pm - 8:30pm or 3pm - 11pm, with call/lates and weekend requirements.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Central Sterile Processing Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in the decontamination, inspection, assembly, packaging, and sterilization of surgical instruments and medical devices. This role involves operating various sterilization equipment and ensuring compliance with manufacturer instructions. The technician will effectively communicate with staff to meet supply needs and maintain a clean working environment.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and decontaminates surgical instruments and medical equipment following manufacturer's Instructions For Use (IFU).
• Inspects, assembles, packages, and sterilizes medical devices in accordance with manufacturer's IFUs.
• Operates automated washers, ultrasonic cleaners, cart washers, and sterilizers according to manufacturer IFUs.
• Inspects surgical instrumentation during tray assembly to ensure proper functioning and cleanliness.
• Pulls surgical case carts for add-ons and/or emergency cases.
• Communicates effectively with other staff members to facilitate all instrument and supply needs in a timely manner.
• Completes daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning of all areas of the department and signs off on cleaning logs and product out-dates.
• Performs other duties as assigned to facilitate departmental and hospital functions.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of Central Sterile/Sterile Processing experience.
• Prior travel experience is required.
• Certification from CBSPD or HSPA is mandatory.
• BLS certification is required.
