Human Resources Specialist

Ojo Spa Resorts is seeking an experienced Human Resources Specialist to join our HR Department at Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs Resort & Spa .

Our HR Specialist office is based in Ojo Caliente, NM. Known for its legendary natural mineral hot springs, Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs Resort and Spa offers a serene environment where healing and relaxation take center stage. We are seeking a Human Resources Specialist to support the HR needs of the Ojo Caliente team and, at times, assist with operations at our sister property, Ojo Santa Fe Spa Resort.

Overview

Reporting to the Human Resources Generalist, the Specialist serves as the primary HR resource for the Ojo Caliente location while partnering with the HR team to ensure consistent HR practices and exceptional service to managers and employees.

This role independently supports recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, HRIS maintenance, compliance, and employee engagement initiatives. It is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional ready to take ownership of day-to-day HR operations while continuing to grow within the HR field.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment & Talent Acquisition

• Manage recruiting for assigned positions
• Conduct phone screens and coordinate interviews
• Complete background and reference checks
• Participate in job fairs and recruiting events

Onboarding & Employee Experience

• Coordinate new hire onboarding and orientation
• Prepare employment documents and maintain personnel files
• Coordinate name badges, uniforms, and new hire resources
• Support employee recognition and engagement programs

Benefits & HR Administration

• Administer benefit enrollments and employment changes
• Assist employees with benefit and HR-related questions
• Maintain accurate HRIS and personnel records
• Support leave administration and Open Enrollment

Compliance & Employee Relations

• Ensure compliance with employment laws and company policies
• Assist with performance documentation and employee relations matters
• Support HR reporting, audits, and policy updates
• Promote a positive and respectful workplace culture

Training & Development

• Coordinate required training and orientation
• Track training completion and support employee development initiatives 

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Human Resources experience preferred (hospitality a plus)
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
• Working knowledge of recruiting, onboarding, benefits, employee relations, and HR compliance
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS platforms; Paylocity experience preferred
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
• SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or PHR certification or equivalency a plus
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage multiple priorities
