Clinic Overview Our clinic at Gottlieb in Melrose Park is looking for a CMA who is a great team player, patient centered and loves working in Family Medicine and Specialties. 5 8‑hour shifts per week. Loyola Medicine Transport is based at Loyola University Medical Center and is part of a three-hospital system including Loyola University Medical Center, Gottlieb Memorial Hospital, and MacNeal Hospital. Role Description (Certified Medical Assistant) The certified Medical Assistant utilizes a defined skill set consistent with the basic educational program, certification, and relevant work experience to deliver direct care to the patient in the ambulatory setting. Working under the direct supervision/licensure of the physician, the Medical Assistant is an integral member of the health care team and is responsible for coordinating the pre‑intra‑post aspects of the medical visit. Responsibilities include direct care, registration & scheduling, physician‑patient communication, and other office‑related tasks. Additional duties: administer medication and work directly with other health care professionals at the site as well as ancillary departments and services to coordinate care. Direct Care: Provides care to the patient and support to the physician throughout the entire visit, beginning at the time of arrival at the reception desk, during the visit, and completion of the checkout process. This includes, but is not limited to, history taking, assisting with routine tasks and procedures, telephone messaging, scheduling and visit follow‑up orders. Works under the supervision of a registered professional nurse when additional skill, assessment and expertise are needed, or in the absence of the physician. Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles. Benefits information: Requirements High School Diploma plus training acquired through work experience or education (Required) Administrative or technical background acquired through completion of 2‑3 years of college (Preferred) Successful completion of accredited medical assistant program (Specify Degree(s)): (Required) Minimum Experience: 1‑2 years of previous job‑related experience (Preferred). Ambulatory experience in primary or specialty setting is preferred. Licensure & Certifications Must possess at least one (1) of the following Medical Assistant credentials within six (6) months of hire: AAMA (American Association of Medical Assistants) RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) AMT (American Medical Technologists) NCCT (National Center for Competency Testing) NHA (National Healthcareer Association) CPR/BLS by the American Heart Association – upon hire.
