Roll Tenders work together with the Press Operators and Assistants to ensure smooth and efficient production by always maintaining an appropriate supply of roll paper stock to the press and performing other pressroom duties as assigned.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesVerify roll inventory number against job ticketRecord roll numbers and weight on roll log sheetPrep rolls for splicer and stage rolls in appropriate locationMove rolls into position and hang rolls in splicerCheck oil levels in units twice each shift and fill as neededCheck overflow pans each shift; dump and clean as neededHang plates on the pressHelp web press during make ready or web breakReturn paper to inventory at the end of each jobComplete paperwork at the end of each job and each shiftKeep work areas clean throughout the shiftWork with Lead Operator and train on press as time allowsParticipate in continuous improvement processHelp Press Assistants as required or directedEnsure production meets department goals and metricsPerform other duties as assignedRequired Skills and AbilitiesHigh School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)1 - 3 years of previous press experience preferredFull comprehension in reading work instructions and business memosEffective communications skills with all levels within the organizationAbility to use basic math skills, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, measurements and critical thinking, to solve practical problemsAbility to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule formMust have the ability to work effectively in stressful situations and meet stringent deadlinesBe organized and able to plan, prioritize and follow through on projects assigned with minimal supervisionHas basic computer skillsMust be self-motivated, reliable, and quality, safety orientedPhysical RequirementsRequires use of proper body mechanics with pushing, pulling, reaching, lifting, squatting, kneeling, and bendingPushing/pulling and lifting up to 50 lbsRequires fine motor hand and arm movement, manual dexterity and coordinationRequires near visual acuityRequires working around and operating departmental equipmentMust be able to access and navigate each department in the facilityRequires the ability to function in a professional manner under stressful circumstancesMittera is a leading-edge company that provides commercial and digital printing, finishing, graphic design, data analytics, direct mail processing, and fulfillment services.
