Salta Steak is an Argentine-American steakhouse built around fire, hospitality, exceptional food and beverage, and a memorable guest experience. We are looking for a driven restaurant professional who wants more than an Assistant General Manager position—we are looking for someone who wants to develop into the future  General Manager of Salta Steak .

Position Overview\n

The Assistant General Manager will work directly under the  Operator and will play a major role in the day-to-day operation, leadership, financial performance, and continued development of Salta.

This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who understands that exceptional restaurants are built through strong standards, accountability, organization, hospitality, and consistent execution.

\n

The successful candidate will initially work closely with the Operator while learning every aspect of the business. As performance, leadership, and operational knowledge develop, the goal is for this individual to assume increasing responsibility and ultimately transition into the  General Manager role at Salta Steak .

Key ResponsibilitiesRestaurant Operations\n

• Assist the Operator in overseeing all aspects of daily restaurant operations.
\n
• Lead both front-of-house and back-of-house teams to ensure consistent execution of Salta's standards.
\n
• Be highly visible on the restaurant floor during service and actively manage the guest experience.
\n
• Ensure opening, closing, cleanliness, safety, and operational procedures are consistently followed.
\n
• Maintain strong communication between management, culinary leadership, bar leadership, and hourly employees.
\n
• Identify operational issues quickly and take ownership of finding solutions.
\n
• Ensure the restaurant is properly staffed and prepared for each service.
\n

Leadership & Team Development\n

\n
• Lead by example and create a professional, accountable, hospitality-driven culture.
\n
• Coach, develop, and hold managers and hourly employees accountable to performance expectations.
\n
• Participate in hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, performance management, and employee development.
\n
• Conduct pre-shift meetings and ensure the team understands daily priorities, reservations, VIP guests, menu changes, and service expectations.
\n
• Develop future leaders within the restaurant.
\n
• Build trust with employees while maintaining clear standards and accountability.
\n

Guest Experience\n

• Maintain a strong presence in the dining room and actively interact with guests.
\n
• Handle guest concerns professionally and with urgency.
\n
• Develop relationships with regular guests and help create a strong base of repeat clientele.
\n
• Ensure service standards reflect the level expected of a high-quality steakhouse.
\n
• Protect the Salta brand and guest experience during every service.
\n

Financial & Business Management\n

\n
• Learn and understand Salta's complete financial picture, including sales, labor, food cost, beverage cost, operating expenses, and profitability.
\n
• Review restaurant financial performance with the Operator.
\n
• Assist in managing labor and scheduling based on sales and business needs.
\n
• Understand and participate in inventory management and cost controls.
\n
• Help identify opportunities to improve profitability without compromising the guest experience.
\n
• Develop the ability to read, understand, and manage restaurant P&Ls.
\n
• Assist with purchasing, vendor relationships, invoices, and operational controls.
\n

Standards & Accountability\n

\n
• Ensure company policies, recipes, service standards, and operating procedures are consistently followed.
\n
• Maintain high standards for restaurant appearance, cleanliness, uniforms, music, lighting, table presentation, and overall atmosphere.
\n
• Ensure managers complete assigned responsibilities accurately and on time.
\n
• Assist with maintaining compliance with health, safety, alcohol service, and employment requirements.
\n
• Take ownership of the restaurant when the Operator is not present.
\n

What We Are Looking For\n

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous restaurant management experience, preferably in a high-volume, upscale, fine dining, steakhouse, or chef-driven environment.
\n
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
\n
• Experience managing both people and restaurant operations.
\n
• An understanding of restaurant financials, labor management, inventory, and cost control.
\n
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
\n
• The ability to remain calm and decisive during high-volume service.
\n
• A genuine passion for hospitality.
\n
• High personal standards and attention to detail.
\n
• The desire to learn the business beyond simply managing shifts.
\n
• The ambition and ability to eventually operate Salta as its General Manager.
\n

Schedule Expectations\n

This is a full-time restaurant leadership position and requires schedule flexibility, including nights, weekends, holidays, and peak business periods.

\n

The AGM should expect to be present during the restaurant's most important services and should view the dining room as their primary office.

Compensation & Growth\n

Starting Salary: $75,000 annually

\n

This position is intentionally designed as a development path toward becoming the  General Manager of Salta Steak .

\n

Advancement will be based on demonstrated leadership, operational execution, financial understanding, team development, guest satisfaction, and the ability to successfully take ownership of the restaurant.

\n

The goal is not simply to hire an AGM. The goal is to develop the next General Manager of Salta Steak.
