Maintenance Technician

Maintenance TechnicianThe Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring that all manufacturing equipment and building systems operate at peak efficiency. They troubleshoot and repair equipment to keep harvesting equipment (such as tractors) running safely and operating at peak efficiency. Using their knowledge and experience, they provide insight to improve equipment to deliver better performance.This is a 40-hour a week position; weekend work may be requiredDuties and ResponsibilitiesRespond quickly to repair equipment and components to minimize downtimeWork closely with management and supervisors to determine priorities and courses of action to improve uptime, product quality and employee safetyPlan and perform maintenance activities to minimize downtimeParticipate in the improvement of our preventative maintenance systemAssist in the implementation of new PM procedures and use it to control and record maintenance activitiesPerform PM activities on a timely basis and keep records of the activity and the components usedHelp maintain an adequate inventory of spare partsKeep all tools and machine shop equipment in workable conditionAt all times work in a manner that maintains the safety of themselves and othersMaintain safety guards on equipmentWork extra hours as required to keep production equipment runningPerform other duties as assigned.Essential QualificationsStrong ability to troubleshoot and problem solve equipment issuesAbility to plan, organize, multi-task, and prioritize in a fast-paced environmentAble to work independently and as part of a teamHigh initiative, self-motivation, flexibility, accountability and reliabilityAbility to maintain a professional demeanor when interacting with teammates, customers and suppliersStrong work ethicEducation and Experience3+ years' experience in a maintenance technician roleKnowledge safeguarding and safety proceduresAbility to weld considered an assetSkilled Trade Certification considered an assetExperience working with agricultural equipment considered an assetJob RequirementsAbility to read, write, and speak English.Must have own means of transportation to and from work.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
