About the Role
The Company is seeking an Associate Vice President for Visitor Services and Experience. This senior leadership role is pivotal in building and leading a high-performing team that is dedicated to providing exceptional, welcoming, and memorable experiences to visitors. The successful candidate will be responsible for the daily operations of the organization's portfolio of visitor centers and temporary pop-up locations, ensuring that the team delivers outstanding service in areas such as ticket sales, retail purchases, information about the city, and special events. Essential functions include leading and mentoring managers, setting and reinforcing performance standards, and fostering a positive workplace culture. The role also involves overseeing all aspects of staff management, from recruitment to training and development, and requires a strong dedication to the mission of the organization and the city. Applicants for the Associate Vice President position should have a minimum of 5 years' experience in the tourism, hospitality, or visitor services sectors, with a proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams. The role demands superior leadership, salesmanship, and interpersonal skills, as well as a strong understanding of effective people management practices. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to the city and its reputation as a world-class destination, and will be adept at creating a culture of accountability while maintaining a supportive and inclusive work environment. A Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience is preferred, and proficiency in a second language is desirable. The position requires a full-time commitment with a variable schedule, including weekends and holidays, and the ability to travel between all visitor center locations.
