Job Description

This role focuses on assembling and installing wire harnesses, electronic components, and mechanical modules for specialized automotive products. You use power and hand tools to fit, drill, and assemble a variety of detailed parts and assemblies, including cutting openings in vehicle bodies to accommodate wiring and electronic components. You read and interpret drawings and schematics to ensure accurate installation of circuit modules, relays, harnesses, and related electronic and electromechanical products.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and install wire harnesses and electronic components into vehicle bodies and chassis units.
• Use power tools such as drills and edge fill tools to fit and assemble a variety of detailed parts and assemblies.
• Cut openings in vehicle bodies to route and accommodate wiring, harnesses, and electronic components.
• Install components, circuit modules, relays, and harnesses in a variety of assemblies and chassis units for electronic and electromechanical products.
• Perform mechanical assembly of modules and subassemblies according to drawings and schematics.
• Read and interpret drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions to complete work accurately and efficiently.
• Handle and use hand tools safely to perform precise assembly and installation tasks.
• Support wire harness assembly and electronic assembly processes to meet production quality standards.
• Inspect completed assemblies to verify proper installation and alignment of components.
• Work collaboratively with production personnel to meet manufacturing schedules and maintain consistent output.

Essential Skills

• Hands-on experience with mechanical assembly in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Proficiency in wire harness assembly and installation.
• Experience with electronic assembly, including circuit modules and relays.
• Ability to safely and effectively use power tools such as drills and edge fill tools.
• Strong skills with hand tools for detailed assembly and installation work.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and electrical schematics.
• Capability to perform schematics-based assembly, including work on PC boards.
• Attention to detail when fitting and assembling a variety of parts and components.
• Ability to cut precise openings in bodies or panels to accommodate wiring and components.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in automotive or vehicle-related manufacturing environments.
• Experience assembling components for specialized vehicles or equipment.
• Familiarity with electronic and electromechanical products and their assembly requirements.
• Comfort working in a production setting with established processes and quality standards.

Work Environment

The role is based in an automotive manufacturing environment focused on the production and assembly of specialized vehicles. You work on the shop floor using power tools, hand tools, and assembly equipment to build and install mechanical and electronic components. The setting is production-oriented, with established processes, safety procedures, and quality standards guiding daily work.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of SOUTH EL MONTE, CA.

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.50/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
