Paramedic Position at Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital

Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital is looking for an experienced Paramedic to work in the Emergency Department and experience a rewarding and life-changing career.

Part time- 24hrs/week

Mid Shift: 12PM-12:30AM

Rotating 6 week schedule

Every 3rd weekend (Sat and Sun)

Holiday rotation

Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital proudly serves the health care needs of families in St. Charles, Lincoln and Warren counties. The 102-bed community hospital provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services including the Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital, the Breast Health and Womens Center, the Cardiology Center, the Neurosurgery Center and the Outpatient Surgery and Endoscopy Center.

Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital is an Accredited Chest Pain Center and carries a Level II stroke certification. Additionally, the hospitals medical office building houses offices for specialists in primary care, cardiology, obstetrics, dermatology, surgery and pulmonology. Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital also offers outpatient services including physical therapy, a sleep lab, and cardio-pulmonary rehabilitation.

Our emergency department has dedicated rooms for children, pregnant women, heart attacks, eye injuries and critical medical conditions. Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose

Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) and an Emergency Room (ER) Physician, the Paramedic - ED/Ambulatory provides patient care support services, in compliance with Hospital and Patient Care Services policies and protocols for ER Triage in the Emergency Department.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine equipment function tests and calibrations.
• Supports and assists with the delivery of patient care.
• Performs invasive procedures, as directed by the RN or Physician.
• Assists with the maintenance and cleaning of patient care equipment.
• Assists with the inventory of supplies and equipment ensuring adequate supply levels.

Minimum Requirements

Education

• High School Diploma or GED

Experience

• <2 years

Supervisor Experience

• No Experience

Licenses & Certifications

• Paramedic

Preferred Requirements

• Experience
• 2-5 years
