Education and Outreach Specialist

Overview At Easterseals PORT Health (ESPH), our mission is grounded in empowering individuals and building stronger communities. The Education and Outreach Specialist is part of the multidisciplinary One Community team in the Southern Region of the Trillium service area. This role focuses on increasing access to care, improving health literacy, and promoting wellness through community education and engagement. Role and Location The Education and Outreach Specialist serves as a bridge between community members and providers through outreach and education across the southern Trillium counties on the East coast of North Carolina. This is a community-based position and candidates must reside in New Hanover County. The role may require attendance at community events outside standard business hours (evenings, weekends, holidays). You must be willing to travel within all regional counties, including Craven, Jones, Carteret, Sampson, Duplin, Onslow, Pender, New Hanover, Brunswick, Columbus, Bladen, Robeson, Hoke, and Scotland. Responsibilities Attend community events (including evenings, weekends, and holidays) to engage with community members and connect them to resources. Educate and inform the public about available services and programs offered by ESPH and partners. Collaborate with the One Community team to support outreach efforts across the southern Trillium counties. Maintain flexibility to accommodate events outside traditional business hours. Qualifications High School diploma or GED required. Maintain a valid NC driver’s license and auto insurance for vehicles used for work. Experience with community-based work and/or experience with the unhomed population is preferred (management preference). Ability to establish working relationships with community referrals, manage multiple projects, and demonstrate strong attention to detail. Compensation and Benefits Hourly rate of $18.
