Surgical Tech - Day shift with possible night shift rotation Neuro Surgery- Anterior cervical fusion, Cervical fusion, Craniotomy, Insertion of VP shunt, Laminectomy/discectomy, Lumbar fusion, ALIF, XLIF, Kyphoplasty Ear, Nose, Throat (ENT)- Endoscopic sinus procedures *, Septoplasty/Rhinoplasty,, Mastoidectomy/Tympanoplasty/Stapedectomy, Radical neck dissection, Tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy, Tracheostomy Laparoscopic assisted cases * There is a possibility for off-shifting (1-3 shifts in a week) once every 4-week scheduling period, but there are a lot of times there is no off-shifting Bi-Weekly Orientation Weeknight call requirements (1-2 nights/week on average) Weekend call required (every 4-5 weekends on average) ***Block schedule CANNOT be accommodated*** 30 rooms, 60-80 cases per day 2 years of Surg Tech experience required Level 1 Trauma experience highly preferred BLS required First time travelers NOT accepted Experience with General Surgery, Endo/Laparoscopic, Bariatrics, Neuro required Experience with Oncology and Ortho procedures highly preferred DaVinci experience highly preferred Scrubs provided by facility 100% NICOTINE FREE FACILITY OR/SPT: Scrubs are provided by the facility Nebraska Medical Center - Nebraska Medical Center (NMC) is the No. 1 rated hospital in the Omaha metro area and the state of Nebraska. Locals Accepted: NO (candidate must be more than 100 miles from facility) Call-Back & Extended Shifts: Please be advised that the call-back rate is only paid if a traveler is on-call offsite and is called-back to the facility after their shift has ended. If their shift is extended due to census or a case running over, they will be paid at their regular rate until they go into overtime. They should not be clocking out and back in for any shifts that run over or are extended. Please be aware that travelers are not paid the same as Core staff members at Nebraska Medicine as Core staff are incentivized differently. The Core Staff policy does not apply to travelers and travelers will only be paid call-back when placed on-call after their shift has ended; they have left the facility, and are called-back. If they have questions while on assignment, please direct them to their agency to discuss their pay.
