Surgical Technologist Profession: Surgical Services Specialty: OR Tech / Surgical Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day shift with possible night shift rotation Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years of Surg Tech experience required License: BLS required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NBSTSA Must-Have: Level 1 Trauma experience preferred Experience with General Surgery, Endo/Laparoscopic, Bariatrics, Neuro required Experience with Oncology and Ortho procedures preferred DaVinci experience preferred Description: Surgical Technologist needed for day shift with possible night shift rotation. Bi-weekly orientations available. There may be off-shifting required (1-3 shifts in a week) once every 4-week scheduling period, but often there is none. Weeknight call requirements average 1-2 nights per week. Weekend call is required on average every 4-5 weekends. This facility operates 30 rooms and manages 60-80 cases per day. A minimum of 2 years of Surgical Tech experience is necessary. Level 1 Trauma experience is highly preferred. BLS certification is required. First-time travelers are not accepted. Experience with General Surgery, Endo/Laparoscopic, Bariatrics, and Neuro is required. Experience with Oncology and Orthopedic procedures is highly preferred. DaVinci experience is also highly preferred. Scrubs will be provided by the facility. This position involves interdisciplinary support and handles patients of various age groups including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. The daily census typically ranges from 60 to 80 cases per day. The unit is equipped with robotics, with a preference for candidates experienced with DaVinci technology. Weeknight and weekend call requirements are significant factors in scheduling. This facility is committed to maintaining a nicotine-free work environment.
