Job Description We are seeking a Dorm Supervisor to join our dynamic team at Phoenix Job Corps Center. The Dorm Supervisor will oversee dormitory operations, provide case management, supervise a dedicated Dorm Life team, and ensure a safe, structured living environment that promotes student retention, satisfaction, achievement, and success. Responsibilities Coordinate staff coverage and maintain an active list of substitute Residential Advisors for vacancies and callouts. Interview, recommend for hire, discipline, recommend for termination, and evaluate the performance of employees in the Residential Department. Ensure all staff adhere to rest and meal break requirements. Oversee the student dorm leadership program. Transport students to and from the Center as required. Provide students with comprehensive, individualized case management to ensure progress, retention, and completion of the Job Corps program. Establish supportive/mentoring relationships with students throughout enrollment. Act as an active member of case management and success teams to ensure student success. Ensure accuracy and completeness of incident and shift reports. Ensure physical security of dorm area and report concerns to senior management. Maintain adequate inventory levels and proactively order supplies per department reorder points. Initiate work orders for necessary repairs and follow up with maintenance to ensure completion. Fill staff vacancies in a timely manner. Employ sound time‑management and delegation skills; hold staff accountable, develop them, and discipline those who fail to meet goals. Provide required/supplemental training for new and current employees. Motivate, empower, and require staff to perform their job responsibilities; manage staff for effectiveness, create a supportive work environment, recognize accomplishments, and proactively address performance concerns. Develop center‑beneficial linkages within the community for education, employment, career technical training, and work‑based learning; promote a positive image of the Center and Job Corps. Mentor, monitor, and model the Career Success Standards; provide high‑quality supervision and management of the student population. Take swift and appropriate action, positively influence student behavior, show respect and courtesy, and hold students accountable for their actions. Provide quality programs and services for students; maintain quality and meet student needs; pursue improvement and enhancement of programs and services. Exchange ideas and information orally and in writing; provide quality and timely information to DOL/Company when requested.
