USPI GCSA AMBULATORY SURGERY CENTER – NORTH EAST is seeking a motivated Registered Nurse to join our team. GCSA Ambulatory Surgery Center – North East is a fast-paced ASC environment committed to producing the highest quality work and experience for patients and their families. The RN renders safe, effective and specialized nursing care to patients (adults to geriatric) in terms of individual needs, according to the Physician’s orders and in conformity with recognized nursing techniques and Standards of Practice. Functions within the philosophy, policies and procedures of the clinic and represents the clinic within and outside the organization with a general feeling of positive Support. Works cooperatively with the physician and the other staff members, demonstrating initiative, insight and judgment in Decision making.

PATIENT CARE AND CLINICAL PRACTICES

Establishes implements and monitors standards of patient care with other members of the team. Supervises and directs nursing staff towards safe and competent patient care. Applies sound judgment to organize, plan, coordinate and control the flow of the ASC, personnel, and utilization of resources. Guides and directs the nursing staff in the conversion of goals and objectives. Demonstrates abilities necessary to identify a problem and develop a plan of action. Works flexible hours in assuming responsibility and accountability in patient care. Relieves other Nurses within the unit and provides cross coverage for nursing staff as necessary. Participates in maintaining a safe environment for the staff and patients. Helps to establish and implement standards of asepsis and infection control and monitors all personnel.

COMMUNICATION

Communicates appropriate information in a timely manner to Charge Nurse Manager and ASC Director as needed. Relates effectively to staff in the ASC. Reports promptly and accurately all significant events and problems to the Charge Nurse Manager, or ASC Director as needed. Promotes a climate in the ASC that is conducive to cooperative, collaborative action by the staff in the ASC.

STAFF DEVELOPMENT

Supervises the patient flow for the admit area to the procedure room and discharge area, assuring conduit of communication thru the process. Systematical assesses needs of patients including physiological, psychological and socio-cultural needs.

QUALIFICATIONS

Valid TX RN License BSN or ASN Required CERTIFICATION: Gastroenterology USPI complies with federal, state, and/or local laws regarding mandatory vaccination of its workforce.
