Security Specialist (Level 2 – Intermediate / Subject-Matter Associate)

Reports to: Deputy CISO

Focus: Subject Matter Expert on Identity and Access Management (IAM)

Primary Value: Operates and improves security capabilities with partial autonomy

Core Responsibilities
Back up for the Security Analyst
Manage access privileges in all platforms and enforce secure practices by all personnel
Run internal vulnerability scans on all systems and interpret the results for remediating actions by IT
Analyze logs in all platforms to detect threats, gaps and weaknesses and propose mitigating actions
Coordinate with local IT team and Home Office personnel for all tasks related to cybersecurity
Monitor logs (firewall, AD, SWIFT platform, Internet Banking platform, etc.)
Compile and improve procedures in line with the cybersecurity strategy formulated by the CISO
Assist other members of the Security Department as necessary
Lead technical areas such as IAM, Data Loss Prevention, endpoint security, or vulnerability management
Perform incident handling, rootcause analysis, and forensics support
Manage key security tools and tuning (SIEM, Tenable VM, M365 Intune/Entra ID, and mailbox security)
Assist the Risk Department no thirdparty risk assessments for security-related vendors
Assist in annual risk assessments and regulatory prep
Produce security metrics and dashboards

Experience / Credentials
3–5 years security experience with knowledge of regulations by the NYS DFS (23 NYCRR 500), SWIFT (CSP), FRB (Security and Resilience Assurance/OC5).

The right candidate will be fluent in Spanish & English.
Optional/Recommended certifications: CISSP, CySA+, AZ-500/SC-500

Desired Experience
Expert knowledge of Active Directory. Working knowledge of Fortinet firewalls, Tenable/Nessus vulnerability scans, Trend Vision One anti-malware platform, and security functions in T24 core banking, FCM, FIS and SWIFT Alliance.

Required Competencies
Operates independently in assigned security area/platform
Creates SOPs and improves workflows
Mentors Analyst
Becomes the “goto” specialist for at least one security area/platform

Languages: Fluent in English and Spanish

Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in a technical-related field/career.
Current work schedule is hybrid (3 days in the office/2 remote per week), and additional availability as required. Company Description
