Director DOU - Full Time - Exempt FPH

Job Summary The Director is responsible for supervising staff and overseeing the operation and overall flow of the units, serving as a role model for all staff. They coordinate unit schedules and staff assignments and participate in the performance appraisal process. They ensure staff meet the approved Standards of Practice, manage personnel and unit activities, and promote cooperative relationships with physicians and other health care providers. The Director provides patient care as needed, coordinates and implements patient care specific to the age of the patient population served. They ensure quality care is provided efficiently and safely, consistent with the unit’s standard of care, and they plan, organize, direct, delegate, and evaluate activities to facilitate quality outcomes. Job Requirements Minimum Education Requirement: BS/BSN preferred. Minimum Experience Requirement: Two years of experience required in specialty area, supervisory experience preferred, understanding of telemetry monitored patients, excellent customer service skills. Minimum License Requirement: California RN license; BLS and ACLS required; certification in specialty preferred (e.g., CCRN, PCCN, MICN, M/S); annual 6 hours of stroke education for those at QVH.
