Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: State or Compact license required Certifications: BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Previous charge experience preferred - Experience with patient ratios of 1:6 - Proficient with charting in Epic Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Medical Surgical care. The shifts will be during the day, requiring 3 days a week with 12-hour shifts. Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience. Travel experience is preferred. The nurse will be responsible for caring for patients ranging from young adults to geriatrics. The patient population includes individuals requiring medical-surgical monitoring and interventions. Common patient diagnoses include both medical and surgical conditions, with an emphasis on neurology and neurosurgery. The unit is equipped with telemetry and pulse oximetry monitoring. Patient safety and quality care are top priorities. Nurses will work as part of an interdisciplinary team to provide holistic patient-centered care. The role includes managing a variety of patient care situations, including blood product administration and monitoring of dysrhythmias. Attention to detail and effective communication skills are essential in this position. Strong critical thinking and assessment skills are required for optimal patient outcomes.
