Job Summary:
The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) specializes in Chemistry and Microbiology, performing diagnostic testing in a fast-paced, Level III Trauma Center. This role requires technical proficiency and adherence to quality standards to support patient care.

Responsibilities:

• Perform laboratory tests in Chemistry and Microbiology using analyzers such as Alinity, BioFire, and Cepheid.
• Maintain accurate documentation of test results within the Epic charting system.
• Calibrate, troubleshoot, and perform quality control on laboratory equipment.
• Follow established protocols to ensure specimen integrity and accurate results.
• Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure timely processing of tests and compliance with safety regulations.
• Adhere to rotational night shift schedule, including participation in weekends and on-call responsibilities.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid ASCP certification with MLS or MLT credentials, or AMT with MLS or MLT credentials.
• Possess at least 1 year of experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
• Demonstrate proficiency with analyzers such as Alinity, BioFire, and Cepheid.
• Must have or be able to obtain South Carolina licensure prior to start.
• Ability to work night shifts, weekends, and participate in emergency response during hurricane season.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality control standards.
