Motiva is wholly owned by Aramco, one of the world’s largest integrated energy and chemicals companies.Position Overview:The Senior Financial Analyst - Capital serves as a key business partner responsible for maintaining the financial integrity of capital projects across the organization. This role provides financial analysis, ensures compliance with fixed asset policies, and maintains accurate capital accounting records. Acting as a liaison between Finance, Project Management, and cross-functional teams, the analyst supports informed decision-making and alignment with capital and project management standards. Success requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to perform effectively in a dynamic environment.This position is an on-site role based at Motiva's Port Arthur Manufacturing Complex in Port Arthur, Texas.Responsibilities:Interpret and apply accounting policies related to Fixed Assets, Capital, and CatalystReview and challenge capital projects, including business justifications, economic assumptions, and capital vs. expense determinationsComplete, analyze, and validate project economics for capital projectsManage capital project administration tasks, including creation, closure, asset management, and retirementsPerform Value of Work Done (VOWD) analysis and execute manual journal entries for month-end reportingEnsure compliance with Delegation of Authority for capital projectsProvide financial support for capital projects across Refining, Chemicals and Distribution, with a focus on Catalyst and Tank projects, as well as large capital project teams, as neededProvide end-to-end support for catalyst projects, including Investment Proposal (IP) creation, requisitioning, cost management, and asset creationAnalyze financial data to prepare and provide monthly latest estimates, variance analysis, and execute month-end closing dutiesPrepare and maintain detailed and comprehensive documentation of processes and procedures to supportAssist in the annual business plan cycle for depreciation & amortization, catalyst, and site capital tank programParticipate in the annual asset verification processSupport special projects across Finance, the Refinery, Chemicals, and DistributionExperience and Qualifications:Required Education and Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related fieldAt least 5 years of experience in financial analysis, business planning, or financial reportingProficiency in financial modeling, valuation, and analysisStrong collaboration, stakeholder engagement, and business partnering skillsKnowledge of financial controls, governance, and assurance practicesAbility to develop and present business-focused reportsExcellent communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information to cross-functional teamsStrong analytical skills and attention to detail to support accurate financial reporting and analysisDemonstrated ability to identify issues and implement effective solutionsAbility to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and handle multiple tasks and projects at onceAbility to adapt and perform effectively in a changing environmentProficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPointPreferred Education and Experience:Oil and gas industry experienceKnowledge of financial systems, including SAPFamiliarity with refinery and/or chemical complexesExperience creating and managing complex spreadsheetsWe reserve the right to amend or withdraw Motiva jobs at any time, including prior to the closing date.
