Job Title:Senior Business Analyst and Project Lead Duration: 6 months (Extendable) Location: Houston, TX - Hybrid (In-office Monday to Thursday / Remote on Friday) NO C2C ONLY W2 ***Due to client requirements this role is only open to USC or GC candidates*** Job Summary The Senior Business Analyst / Project Lead is responsible for analyzing business opportunities, supporting strategic initiatives, and driving execution of small to medium-sized cross-functional projects within the Consumer Home Energy Organization. This role combines strong business analysis capabilities with hands‑on project leadership to help deliver initiatives that improve customer retention, customer experience, operational effectiveness, and business performance. The ideal candidate is a structured problem solver who can translate complex business challenges into actionable plans, perform root cause and trend analysis, facilitate stakeholder alignment, and drive workstreams from discovery through implementation. This individual contributor role requires strong analytical thinking, project coordination skills, and the ability to influence outcomes across multiple teams without direct authority. Essential Duties/Responsibilities Business Analysis & Strategic Execution Partner with business stakeholders to understand business problems, objectives, and success measures. Gather, document, analyze, and validate business requirements and process needs. Conduct root cause analysis, trend analysis, and operational performance assessments to identify improvement opportunities. Develop current‑state and future‑state process maps and recommend process improvements. Support the development of business recommendations through data‑driven analysis and insights. Translate business needs into actionable requirements, user stories, process documentation, and implementation plans. Assist with testing strategy, user acceptance testing coordination, defect management, and implementation readiness activities. Project & Workstream Leadership Lead small to medium-sized projects or workstreams from initiation through implementation. Develop and maintain project plans, milestones, action items, risks, issues, and dependencies. Coordinate cross‑functional teams to ensure deliverables are completed on time and aligned with business objectives. Facilitate project meetings, working sessions, decision forums, and stakeholder reviews. Provide regular project status updates, progress reporting, and executive‑ready communications. Escalate risks and issues appropriately while recommending practical solutions and mitigation plans. Support change management and adoption activities to ensure successful implementation. Stakeholder Management Build strong relationships across business, operations, technology, and partner teams. Facilitate alignment among stakeholders with competing priorities. Drive accountability by tracking commitments, action items, decisions, and next steps. Present findings, recommendations, and project updates to leadership and cross‑functional audiences. Working Conditions Open office environment/remote Hybrid position located in Houston, TX Some overtime required as special projects arise Minimum Requirements Bachelors degree preferred; experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Minimum of 5 years of experience in business analysis, project management, consulting, process improvement, or related disciplines. Experience leading small to medium-sized cross‑functional projects or workstreams. Demonstrated experience gathering business requirements and translating them into actionable solutions. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with experience performing root cause and trend analysis. Experience facilitating stakeholder discussions and managing competing priorities. Experience utilizing Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid project delivery methodologies. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, Economics, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field. Experience supporting customer retention, customer experience, operational improvement, or strategic transformation initiatives. Experience building dashboards, reports, and performance insights using Power BI or similar tools. Experience working with large datasets and developing business insights from quantitative analysis. PMP, Scrum Master, Agile, Lean Six Sigma, or related certifications. Knowledge of the utility, energy, retail, or customer service industries. Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Strong business analysis and requirements elicitation skills. Strong project planning, organization, and execution capabilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast‑paced environment. Excellent facilitation and stakeholder management skills. Strong process mapping and process improvement expertise. Ability to communicate effectively with frontline employees, managers, and senior leadership. Strong root cause analysis and structured problem‑solving skills. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, and collaboration tools. Experience with project management and work management tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, Monday.com, or similar platforms. Ability to work independently while effectively influencing across teams. Comfortable operating in ambiguous environments and driving clarity to support decision‑making.
