The Parts Assistant is also responsible for assisting members with their immediate needs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Lead day-to-day operations of the parts department in the absence of the Parts ManagerOrder, return, receive, and dispatch parts to appropriate departmentSource new suppliers that are cost efficient and high qualityAssist with inventory as per Just in Time (JIT) processEncourage sales and act as liaison with customers where appropriateAssign parts and purchases to the appropriate vessels/ticketsContinuously meets ongoing company goalsAvailable to work overtime when requiredOther duties as assigned by Manager Safety and Environmental Responsibilities Follow SHM Safety and Environmental rules and complete required related training.Wear proper personal protective equipment as required for the task or work area.Report all accidents, injuries, spills and near misses immediately.
