Physical TherapistEvaluates and conducts medically prescribed physical therapy treatment programs. Performs the duties and responsibilities within the scope of a Physical Therapist - Level I & II, as defined within the job description.Minimum QualificationsEducation, Certification, and/or Licensure:Current physical therapist licensure in the applicable state where services will be performed:MD: Physical Therapist License through Maryland Board of Physical Therapy Examiners OR Physical Therapist Compact LicenseOH: Physical Therapist License through Ohio Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Athletic Training Board OR Physical Therapist Compact LicensePA: Physical Therapist License through Pennsylvania State Board of Physical Therapy OR Physical Therapist Compact LicenseWV: Physical Therapist License through West Virginia Board of Physical Therapists OR Physical Therapist Compact LicenseObtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.Experience:Four (4) years of physical therapist experience.Preferred QualificationsEducation, Certification, and/or Licensure:Current specialty certification in one of the following:American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS) Clinical Specialty CertificationCertified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA)Certified Lymphedema Therapist through the Lymphology Association of North AmericaCertification in Orthopedic Manual Therapy (COMT) through the International Academy of Orthopedic MedicineFellow American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists (FAAOMPT)Certified Hand Therapist through Hand Therapy Certification CommissionCredentialed Clinical Instructor (Level I) through the American Physical Therapy AssociationCredentialed Clinical Instructor (Level II) through the American Physical Therapy AssociationCertified Stroke Rehab Specialist (CSRS) through Neuro Recovery UnlimitedCertification in Dry Needling (CIDN) or Functional Dry Needling (FDN) through Integrated Rehabilitation ServicesCore Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position. Other duties may be assigned.Provides coordinated and comprehensive patient care including assessment, expected outcomes, rehabilitation interventions and evaluation within an interdisciplinary team approach.Applies research and proven techniques to examine, diagnose, and then prevent or treat conditions that limit the body's ability to move and function in daily life as monitored by supervision, by documentation review, and consultation with M.D.Carries out oversight responsibilities to ensure supervision of PTAs, Rehab Techs, students, and volunteers.Participates in meeting the goals and objectives of the work unit and department to ensure that the department contributes to the attainment of the hospital's organization's goals and objectives.Supervision of physical therapy students and volunteers. Will provide supervision of therapy assistants in accordance with regulatory standards.Submits accurate charges for services rendered for patients, according to departmental policies and procedures utilizing the billing system via the patient's EMR.For facilities with specialty accreditation requirements:Completion of annual required education related to specialty accreditation as defined by accreditation standards. Training may be completed through CBLs, trainings, In-services, and competency validation.Physical RequirementsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
