Manager, Pricing – Oahu Location: Honolulu, Hawaii (HI), US 96813 Company: Hawaiian Electric Companies Job Summary Manager of the Pricing Department within the P Pricing Division responsible for developing fair and reasonable electric rates and rules, ensuring cost recovery for Hawaiian Electric Company and its subsidiaries, and providing regulatory support. Essential Functions Manages department personnel matters including performance appraisals, interview, hiring/firing, recognition and disciplinary actions. Plans, directs, monitors, and evaluates department activities and staff assignments to meet company objectives. Determines departmental operational needs for budgeting purposes. Directs, designs, coordinates, implements and administers the company’s electric rates and rules to ensure correct tariff application and bill computation. Advises company and non-company personnel on proper application and interpretation of rates and rules to comply with Public Utilities Commission (PUC) requirements, customer satisfaction and company interests. Plans, designs, coordinates, and implements revenue forecasts, fuel and purchased power expense forecasts, rate research studies and cost-of-service studies. Testifies as an expert witness on rate design, customer loads, cost-of-service studies and revenue requirements in PUC proceedings. Provides regulatory support to other docket and program initiatives as required. Participates in emergency response activities and other special projects as assigned. Qualifications Knowledge: Must possess technical knowledge in electrical engineering concepts, statistics, quantitative methods, survey research methods, economics, accounting, public utility finance, forecasting techniques, econometric and statistical modeling, electric utility operations and regulation, computer programming, and cost-of-service methodologies, rate design, and rate and load research techniques. Advanced graduate level or equivalent experience in business, economics, or engineering is required. Skills: Strong technical, analytical and computer skills; ability to develop and lead technical and statistical studies; effective written and oral communication and presentation skills; management/supervisory and interpersonal skills; flexibility to adapt to changing priorities. Experience: At least 8+ years in development of cost-of-service studies, rate design, rate research and analysis, and load studies; 3‑5 years of management/leadership experience.
