URGENT: Elder Care Provider Wanted - Part Time In Home Caregiver / Companion In York, Maine For Elderly Man

We are looking for a kind, dependable, and patient person to provide part-time in-home care and companionship for my dad in his home. My dad is an older adult living with dementia, diabetes, and high blood pressure. He is able to remain at home, but he needs regular support with everyday tasks and activities of daily living. We are looking for someone who is comfortable providing both companionship and hands-on assistance and who can help him maintain as much independence, dignity, and routine as possible. Responsibilities may include: Providing companionship, conversation, and a calm, supportive presence Helping with activities of daily living, including showering, dressing, and personal hygiene Providing reminders and assistance with daily routines Preparing simple meals and snacks Helping with light household tasks such as dishes, laundry, tidying, and changing linens Helping keep the home organized and safe Providing medication reminders, as appropriate Helping monitor and communicate any changes or concerns related to his general wellbeing Assisting with errands and occasional grocery shopping Accompanying him to appointments or other activities as needed Encouraging walks, time outside, and other appropriate activities Communicating regularly with family members about how things are going Being attentive to his safety, particularly given his dementia About the person we're looking for: We are looking for someone who is patient, compassionate, dependable, and comfortable with hands-on caregiving. The right person will understand that dementia can sometimes mean confusion, repetition, changes in mood, or difficulty with everyday tasks, and will be able to respond with patience and kindness. Experience with dementia care, senior care, personal care, or a similar caregiving role is strongly preferred, although we are willing to consider someone with the right temperament and experience. You should be comfortable assisting with personal care, including showering, and with helping someone who may need reminders or step-by-step assistance with daily tasks. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are preferred for occasional errands or appointments. Hours & Schedule This position is approximately 20–25 hours per week. We are hoping to establish a consistent schedule with someone who can become a familiar and trusted part of my dad's routine.
