Senior Footwear Designer - Western | Genesco Brands Group

We're looking for a talented Footwear Designer II to help shape the future of Wrangler® footwear, bringing together authentic Western heritage, modern lifestyle influences, and commercial product innovation.

About the Role




As a Footwear Designer II, you'll play a key role in designing and developing Wrangler footwear across Western and lifestyle categories. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to bring concepts to life, from initial inspiration and trend research through commercialization. You'll also have the opportunity to support other Genesco Branded Group brands and special projects as business needs evolve.

This is an exciting opportunity for a designer who is passionate about footwear, understands consumer trends, appreciates authentic Western design, and enjoys balancing creativity with business objectives.

What You'll Do

• Design and develop footwear collections primarily for Wrangler's Western and lifestyle categories.
• Create commercially relevant products that reflect Wrangler's heritage while meeting consumer needs and seasonal business goals.
• Partner with Product Development and Sourcing teams to bring concepts from ideation through commercialization.
• Develop concept sketches, color CADs, material direction, and technical packages.
• Present trend research, consumer insights, and seasonal product stories to internal stakeholders.
• Research emerging trends, materials, construction methods, and manufacturing innovations.
  Manage multiple projects while meeting development calendars and key milestones.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design or a related field.
• 5+ years of footwear design experience.
• Experience designing lifestyle footwear; Western footwear experience is highly preferred.
• Strong portfolio showcasing footwear design and creative problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
• Experience creating line art, color CADs, and technical packages.
• Knowledge of footwear construction, materials, and detailing.
• Strong communication, presentation, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
