Cost Accounting ManagerThe Cost Accounting Manager oversees all cost accounting activities for two manufacturing plants and serves as a key financial business partner to Operations leadership. This role is responsible for standard costing, variance analysis, inventory valuation, and driving cost visibility and margin improvement. Will be the main person for the costing of every product, new potential products and hundreds of SKUs as well as managing 1 cost accountant.Job ResponsibilitiesManage all financial aspects of a manufacturing plant, including budgeting, financial reporting, cost accounting, and internal controls.Participate in month-end and year-end closing for assigned areas.Prepare annual budget and periodic forecasts.Support Operations through partnering and preparation of timely, detailed analytical reports regarding costs, spend, and variances.Analyze manufacturing operations, equipment availability and utilization, and labor operations to ensure efficiency.Perform all activities of cost accounting function, including standard cost roll, multi-level bills of materials, direct and indirect labor, overhead rates, and absorption, product cost development.Conduct various general accounting activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations for assigned areas.Identify opportunities to improve profitability through development and generation of appropriate customer, product, and cost reporting, and through thorough understanding of the business and its processes.Guide financial decisions by participating in establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.Oversee and value annual physical inventory.Monitor and confirm financial condition by participating in audits and providing information to external auditors.Manage 1 direct reports.Job QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.5 years of progressive manufacturing cost accounting experience.Demonstrated ownership of standard costing and variance analysis in a plant environment.Proven ability to influence and challenge Operations leadership constructively.Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, labor models, and overhead structures.ERP experience required (SAP preferred, Oracle or similar acceptable).Advanced Excel and analytical skills.LocationThis position is located in Vernon, CA, a vibrant city known for its industrial and manufacturing hub, offering a dynamic work environment.Benefits PEAK's benefit offerings available for our associates include medical, dental, vision, Flexible Spending Account (FSA), Dependent Care Savings Account (DCA), and 401K plan.
