Quality Inspector I Location: South Chesterfield, VA, US, 23834 Work Arrangement: Onsite What we are looking for Ensure company safety, quality and performance procedures are met in a safe, clean and organized setting; offer recommendations to improve these standards Data Collection and Charting. Part measurements to prints utilizing precise measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, CMM Interact directly with Purchasing, Final Assembly and all supporting areas regarding issues that affect customer and vendor specifications and shipments. Interact directly with Inside Sales concerning order specifications, changes and errors. Interact directly with Engineering concerning design, product and print issues. Load/Product testing. Work with Quality team members on case line ups, audits and inspections. Must be a team player with good team skills and the ability to get along with all types of personalities. Work with other departments to resolve supplier invoice/product discrepancy errors Understands emergency evacuation procedures, including where to gather outside the building. Other duties as assigned. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of inventory storage locations. Perform various material handling duties, to include, but not be limited to driving fork truck, shipping truck, hand truck, etc. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of physical plant, i.e., keep aisle ways, docks, etc. swept free of debris and uncluttered Must have prompt and regular attendance. Perform other duties as assigned Must be familiar with parts and products High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED). ASQ Certification(s) beneficial, Electronics and Mechanical systems a plus. 6 Months related experience and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience. Excel, Word and Power point computer applications a plus. Use of measurement equipment a must. (Ex. Calipers, Protractors, Micrometers etc). Must be willing and able to work overtime, Saturdays and Sundays with little or no notice. Must be willing to work flexible hours. Experience in auditing process and products a must. Excellent organizational andtime management skills While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to sit and use hands along with fingers, to handle or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to read and interpret documents such as Customer Orders, product blueprints and wiring diagrams. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively to groups of customers or employees of organization.
