If you're ready to drive change and make history, apply now!OverviewAs the Senior Software Engineer for Scout Motor's digital products, you will play a key role in the development and enhancement of our software products, from concept to deployment. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement scalable and robust solutions that meet our customers' needs and exceed their expectations. Some of the key products as part of digital portfolio are – mobile and desktop applications, vehicle connectivity solutions, mapping services, production, inventory and planning optimization, servicing and repairs, and more. At the same time, you'll have plenty of opportunities to be hands-on building key systems and will be directly responsible for the successful delivery of complex and large-scale technical efforts as well acting as a technical mentor and leader for other engineers.What You'll DoWork with engineers & technical leaders across the company to ship interoperable products and systems on strong foundations that manage customer interactions inside and outside of the vehicleContribute to architecture and lead the design and implementation of of complex software systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performanceCollaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications and deliverablesDesign, implement and support identity, access and profile related services for multiple web applications, mobile apps and vehicle apps supporting internal and customer as usersImplement best practices and standards for software development, including code reviews, testing, and documentationMentor and coach junior team members, providing guidance and support to help them grow and succeedStay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, continuously learning and experimenting with new tools and techniques to improve our software development processBe responsible for the services that are owned by your team, ensuring 24/7 on-call coverageUse AI-assisted development tools effectively to improve productivity, code quality, and delivery.Location & Travel Expectations:This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Fremont, California.This role requires 3 day per week in the office, with regular in-person meetings and events.Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.What You'll BringBachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.5+ years in software development, with a focus on back-end technologies.Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholdersAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, both independently and as part of a teamProficiency in one of Go, Node.js, Python, Java, or RubyExperience with both relational and/or non-relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis)Experience with identity management systems (e.g., Azure AD, AWS Cognito, LDAP, Okta, Keyclock) and directory services for user authentication and managementStrong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and best practicesExcellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with a passion for finding elegant solutions to complex challengesWhat You'll GainCompetitive insurance including: Medical, dental, vision and income protection plans401(k) program with an employer match and immediate vestingGenerous Paid Time Off including 20 days planned PTO, as accrued, 40 hours of unplanned PTO and 14 company or floating holidays, annually, up to 16 weeks of paid parental leave for biological and adoptive parents of all genders, paid leave for circumstances related to bereavement, jury duty, voting time, or military leavePay TransparencyThis is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program.
