Hospice Volunteer

Join our team of Hospice Volunteers who provide social, emotional, and spiritual support to hospice patients, and their loved ones.

Hospice Volunteers provide visits to hospice patients wherever they call home. This may be a skilled nursing facility, or a private residence. They affirm and honor life through activities that are meaningful to the patient, and they provide tremendous support for family caregivers in need of a break.

We provide the following services as hospice volunteers:

• Companionship Support (life review, reading a book, listening to music, taking walks, sitting quietly and being present with the patient, etc.)
• Respite Support (providing the caregiver the opportunity to run errands or take a break)
• Certified Pet Therapy (animals must be registered through Pet Partners)
• Veteran Support (Must be a veteran to provide veteran to veteran support)
• Vigil/11th Hour Support (provide a supportive presence in the final hours to days)
• Administrative (assembling packets, mailings, etc. - office work is located in Bloomington, Stillwater, or St Louis Park)
