Job Title: Electro-Mechanical Assembler
Job Description

This role focuses on assembling and testing a wide variety of electro-mechanical products in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will follow established production and quality standards to meet customer requirements, while also supporting material handling activities and maintaining accurate inventory through system transactions.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety procedures and policies at all times on the production floor.
• Assemble electro-mechanical products according to work instructions, quality standards, and manufacturing due dates.
• Meet or exceed established productivity and output standards for assigned workstations and lines.
• Pick, replenish, and transport components to and from production areas as needed.
• Handle and organize packaging materials to support shipping and finished goods requirements.
• Train and certify on forklift and tugger equipment, and move material throughout the plant using forklift, tugger, and hand truck equipment.
• Refill Kanban bins and deliver them to the appropriate areas to support continuous production flow.
• Perform basic machine cleaning tasks to keep equipment in proper working condition.
• Operate electrical lifts as needed to move materials safely and efficiently.
• Handle and assemble a variety of different part numbers with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Inspect in-process and final assemblies to verify they meet quality requirements and specifications.
• Monitor and report part shortages in the production system to prevent delays.
• Rotate and cross-train across various production areas and workstations, including material handling, as directed to meet business and customer needs.
• Participate in special projects and cross-functional teams when required.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members to achieve production goals.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including managing trash, daily cardboard, and recycle bins.
• Scan and transfer materials in the computer systems in a timely manner to support accurate inventory counts.
• Work overtime when required to support customer demand and production schedules.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support overall manufacturing operations.

• Ability to read and write in English to follow work instructions, safety guidelines, and documentation.
• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand and work with electro-mechanical components.
• Previous manufacturing experience in a production or assembly environment.
• Ability to assemble products using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
• Capability to read and follow basic blueprints or assembly documentation, as applicable.
• Comfort using a computer to access parts lists and information needed to pull and assemble components.
• Flexibility and willingness to move around the facility and work on different production lines based on daily workload needs.
• Ability to lift, move, and handle materials safely, including using material handling equipment after training.
• Strong attention to detail for inspecting in-process and final assemblies for quality.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly with coworkers and supervisors.

• Experience assembling drives or similar electro-mechanical products by hand.
• Prior certification or experience operating forklift, tugger, or similar material handling equipment.
• Familiarity with Kanban systems and component replenishment processes.
• Experience using scanners or similar devices for inventory and material transactions.
• Willingness to participate in cross-training and special projects to support continuous improvement.

Work Environment

This position is based in a manufacturing facility focused on electro-mechanical assembly and material handling. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday from 3:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., with additional Saturday hours from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. as needed. You will work on and around production lines, using hand tools, power tools, forklifts, tuggers, hand trucks, electrical lifts, and computer systems for parts access and inventory transactions. The role involves standing, moving between different lines and workstations, and handling various components and packaging materials in a clean, organized production environment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Machesney Park, IL.

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Machesney Park,IL.
