Investment Analyst — Private Investment Advisory Firm, Boston Our client is a well-established, independently minded investment advisory firm in Boston, managing several billion dollars on behalf of long-term clients. Because the firm isn't tied to proprietary products or revenue‑sharing arrangements, research and recommendations get shaped by what's optimal for the portfolio. Analysts here are encouraged to bring their own point of view to the table. This seat sits at the intersection of two disciplines usually kept separate: hands‑on coverage of individual public companies, and direct evaluation of outside investment managers. Analysts here carry their own coverage list — sourcing ideas, writing the thesis, and presenting recommendations directly to the investment team. That combination gives you a wider view of the investment process than a typical single‑lane research role. What You'll Do Own coverage of an assigned set of companies — from sourcing the idea through maintaining the thesis — and bring your recommendations directly to the investment team. Take a lead role evaluating outside fund managers: running diligence meetings, assessing team and process stability, and making your own hire/keep/pass recommendations. Track existing portfolio positions on an ongoing basis and flag developments that change the investment case. Weigh ESG factors as part of your core research on companies and managers alike. Pitch in on client materials, trading support, and other team projects as they arise. Participate in regular investment debate with the team, where critical thinking and independent perspectives are genuinely valued. About You / Qualifications 3+ years in an equity research, asset management, or manager due diligence seat. Pure investment banking backgrounds should have since moved into an ongoing buy‑side coverage role. Real experience building financial models from scratch in Excel. A track record of carrying actual coverage responsibility: writing theses, presenting recommendations, and defending a call under scrutiny. Direct experience evaluating third‑party managers is a strong plus — sourcing, diligence meetings, hire/fire‑type recommendations. Comfortable with investment research platforms (e.g., Bloomberg, FactSet) and the full Microsoft Office suite. BA/BS required with a strong academic record; the firm actively supports progress toward a CFA or MBA, though neither is required to start. #J-18808-Ljbffr
