Step into a rewarding contract opportunity near Los Angeles, CA, providing occupational therapy services within a supportive educational environment. This flexible position offers approximately 18-20 work hours per week, conveniently organized across 3 six-hour days—or tailored to your scheduling preferences. All services take place at one site, facilitating ease and consistency, while giving you the chance to focus on meaningful connections with students and staff alike.
Key Qualifications:
- California licensure as an Occupational Therapist
- Experience working in school-based settings is highly desirable
- Comfort and skill in supporting students from grades 2 through 12+, with needs ranging from mild to moderate/severe
- Familiarity with IEP planning, documentation, and implementation
- Ability to collaborate with other OTs, COTAs, and interdisciplinary school teams
- Commitment to in-person service delivery
Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy aligned with individualized educational program (IEP) goals
- Effectively document services daily, ensuring timely and accurate records
- Allocate structured time each workday for preparation (8am-9am) and documentation (2pm-3pm)
- Engage flexibly with a varied caseload of approximately 15 students, adapting interventions to suit a wide spectrum of needs
- Consult proactively with school staff, including the director, coordinators, and lead teachers, to ensure comprehensive student support
- Partner closely with another Occupational Therapist and a COTA, creating a collaborative and collegial atmosphere
