Cost Accountant I

Our team is looking for a Cost Accountant I to join our corporate accounting group and support the Cost Accounting Controller in maintaining accurate job cost records and supporting contract billing and financial reporting for construction projects. This role is focused on execution, accuracy, and consistency. The Cost Accountant I will work closely with the Cost Accounting Controller and accounting team to support day-to-day job cost activity, billing processes, and internal reporting while gaining exposure to construction cost accounting within an integrated accounting environment. Core Areas of Responsibility. Job cost and reporting support - Review and post job cost transactions, assist with cost coding and corrections, maintain organized job cost documentation, and support month-end job cost close and internal reporting activities. Contract billing support - Assist with preparation of contract billings, maintain billing backup and working schedules, support billing projections, and post Accounts Receivable payments and related reconciliations. Cost review and coordination - Support the Cost Accounting Controller in reviewing job cost information, researching discrepancies, and coordinating with project teams as needed to resolve cost-related questions. Systems and process support - Work within integrated accounting systems, follow established accounting procedures, participate in system training, and support ongoing process improvement efforts. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Strong understanding of accounting principles Construction or job cost accounting experience preferred High attention to detail and strong organizational skills Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Viewpoint or SAP is a plus Clear, professional communication skills Equal Opportunity Employer, including disabled and veterans. #J-18808-Ljbffr MEB
