Registered Nurse - Bariatric Clinic

RN – Bariatric Surgery Clinic (H) at SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital – Centralia. Full‑Time, Day Shift, Regular worker type. Job Summary Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization. Job Responsibilities Implants and monitors patient care plans; records and communicates patient condition. Serves as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for well‑coordinated patient care. Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders. Assesses and coordinates patient discharge planning needs with team members. May round with physician in an inpatient setting. Applies evidence‑based practice and scientific knowledge to nursing practice, ensuring care based on patient age‑specific and clinical needs. Demonstrates professional nursing standards defined in the SSM Health practice model, using the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses to guide responses to current and evolving health needs. Maintains a state of alertness and works safely. Performs other duties as assigned. Education Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or education equivalency for licensing. Experience No specific experience required. Physical Requirements Constant use of speech, oral communication. Constant standing and walking. Frequent lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling objects 0‑25 lbs; frequent sitting, reaching, keyboard use / data entry. Frequent use of vision, depth perception, color identification. Frequent use of smell and hearing for communication and alarms. Occasional lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling 25‑50 lbs; occasional lifting/moving of patients. Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, gripping, repetitive hand/foot/leg movements. Occasional driving; rare crawling and running. Required Licensure & Certifications Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) – American Heart Association (AHA) and Registered Professional Nurse (RN) – Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR). Schedule Monday, Tuesday, Friday: 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Wednesday/Thursday: 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (may occasionally be 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.) Cross‑campus role in Southern Illinois. Weekends: None.
