Job Overview Provide comprehensive patient care including specialized ophthalmic testing, triage, and patient teaching. Perform basic and routine eye examination procedures to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases and problems. Explain diagnostic and treatment procedures to patients. Work Hours Monday through Friday. Rotating shift. Shift minimum. Requirements Minimum education: Associate’s Degree or equivalent training. Specify Degree(s): Ophthalmic Technician Program. Experience: Less than one year required; at least one year preferred. Must possess demonstrated knowledge and hands‑on experience in manual refraction and applanation tonometry. Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and able to obtain certification as an ophthalmic assistant within the first year of employment. Compensation Pay range: $22 – $29.55 per hour. Compensation may vary based on experience, qualifications, education, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
