Surgical Physician Assistant - Full-Time - Cedars-Sinai Orthopedics & Sports Medicine

We are seeking a Surgical Physician Assistant who will provide health care services to patients under the direction and responsibility of a Physician by performing the following duties: Essential Duties and Responsibilities Examines patient, performs comprehensive physical examination, and compiles patient medical data including health history and results of physical examination. Under the direction of a total joints (hips and knees) Physician, conduct patient assessments, order, or directly provide treatments, and provide patient education and support. Provides post‑op follow‑ups as needed including hospital rounding. First assist in the O/R 1‑3 days per week and clinic 2‑4 days per week. Successful candidate must possess excellent suturing and wound closure skills. Work under protocol to develop an effective, safe, and patient‑centered treatment plan. Provide timely and complete clinical documentation in the EHR following patient visits or telephone calls. Maintain ongoing communication with the physician regarding assigned patients and provide timely notification of changes in patient status. Maintain ongoing communication with other members of the care team through written documentation, telephone or in‑person conversation. Ensure timely access of patient appointments. Provide On‑Call weekend coverage 1‑2 weekends each quarter. Will Work At Multiple Sites Including Santa Monica, Marina Del Rey, Providence Saint John’s Health Center, Surgery Center of the Pacific Qualifications Educational Requirements Master of Science Degree in Physician Assistant studies License/Certification Requirements National Certification as a Physician Assistant BLS and ACLS Certification required DEA certification required Experience Minimum one (1) year Physician Assistant experience in a relevant clinical area preferred, e.g., orthopaedics or sports medicine, general surgery, reconstructive surgery, or other surgical specialties. #J-18808-Ljbffr Cedars-Sinai
