Job Summary Area Supervisor is part of Store Leadership. Manages an assigned area and general operations, acting as Manager on Duty, responsible for opening and closing the store, supervising associates and maintaining a friendly and safe environment. Essential Functions Maintaining Safe & Secure Environments Practice safe behaviors; remain aware on the sales floor and correct unsafe conditions. Handle building security: entrance/exit control, EAS device checks, cash office security, armored pickups, register area and clear egress. Ensure customer safety: accident prevention, reporting, emergency procedures, fire alarms and after‑hours alarms. Customer Service Treat customers, associates and leaders with respect, courtesy, friendliness and professionalism. Recognize associates through company programs. Personal and Store Brand Represent and support the company brand; maintain professional appearance and enforce dress code. Keep store clean, well‑maintained and merchandised to standard; handle daily trash removal. General Merchandising Ensure recovery, sizing and markdowns meet standards through teaching, assignments and follow‑up. Process merchandise promptly; handle non‑merchandise deliveries. Keep stockroom clean and organized; assist with floor placement. Manage back‑stock, floor moves, promotions and rewraps; comply with loss prevention guidelines. Loss Prevention Comply with Loss Prevention Awareness Program; maintain customer service presence and engage associates and customers. Safeguard confidential information, cash and credit card data; maintain PVM system and conduct “Code 50” inspections. Maximize productivity while minimizing steps. Front End Supervision and Operations Maintain pace and presence; manage line; train and coach associates on registers, shortage control and other procedures. Manage associate break schedule; ensure equipment and supplies are operational. Teach “Scan and Bag” best practice; oversee merchandise salability on front end. Fitting Rooms Maintain cleanliness; audit tags; ensure go‑back compliance; ticket, scan, secure returned items. Administrative Duties Cash pulls, bank deposits, front end control, refund/associate purchase approvals. Payroll administration: daily punch edits, schedule compliance and payroll reporting. Other duties as assigned by store manager. Competencies Manage work processes; business acumen; planning and prioritizing; talent development; collaboration; leadership; effective communication; accountability and execution. Qualifications Excellent verbal communication; fluency in English. Prior customer service and supervisory experience preferred. Familiarity with point‑of‑sale equipment and applications. Ability to perform basic math calculations. Ability to work evenings and weekends. Physical Requirements / ADA Ability to use all store equipment including PDTs, registers, PCs; stand, walk, and move 100% of working time; bend, squat, kneel, climb; lift more than 25 lbs; use janitorial equipment and racks.
