NURSE SUPERVISOR- FULL TIME EVENING SIGNON BONUS $12,500

Position Summary The Nursing Supervisor will maintain quality nursing services upon the Evening Shift at Hampton Behavioral Health Center, a 120-bed acute care psychiatric hospital. Responsibilities The successful candidate will: Motivational, encouraging, and self‑sufficient, with strong leadership skills. Ensure nursing services comply with the State Nurse Practice Act and hospital standards. Act as resource for the facility on the Evening Shift and supervise Nursing Department staff and other departments. Coordinate activities among nursing units, assist the Admissions Department, and manage shift handoffs. Serve as administrative authority for assigned units, notifying administration of concerns. Receive and address employee, resident, and family grievances. Assist in survey compliance, quality assurance, and staff development duties. Work with the Director of Nursing to complete employee evaluations and conduct counseling with HR. Handle employee absences, replacements, and staffing of upcoming shifts. Provide clinical expertise in medical and psychiatric emergencies and crisis management. Demonstrate strong leadership, initiative, judgment, dependability, communication, and problem‑solving skills. Essential Functions Work with the head nurse to allocate staff for the shift on each unit. Coordinate patient care on the assigned shift, communicating shift concerns. Receive and give reports from/oncoming supervisors. Act as administrative authority, notifying the administrator and Director of Nursing of urgent concerns. Process employee, resident, and family grievances, completing appropriate forms. Assist in survey compliance, quality assurance, and staff development duties. Complete evaluations for employees on shift with the Director of Nursing. Counsel employees with HR, complete documentation, and communicate with the Director of Nursing. Handle call‑outs and replace absences for upcoming shifts. Provide clinical expertise in medical and psychiatric emergencies. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN or BS in health related field required. Current RN licensure in New Jersey and BLS certification required. ANCC Certification in mental health and psychiatric nursing preferred. Minimum of two years experience in treatment of psychiatric patients and at least one year in a nursing supervisory role.
