Job Summary This position is responsible for assisting the head coach in creating and maintaining a successful program for the institution on the field, in the classroom, and in the community. Responsibilities Is responsible to understand, support, and carry out the college's mission, vision, and values and comply with mandates and regulations of government and accrediting bodies. This position assists with the departments advisement and academic support responsibilities for all student athletes Identifies and recruits potential student athletes Assists the head coach with practice plans and game strategies for upcoming opponents Performs on-field instruction and player development Conducts and supervises individual trainings for student athletes and off-season conditioning Monitors progress of student athletes and implements strategies to ensure academic and athletic success with an emphasis on sportsmanship, integrity, a competitive spirit, and academic success Recruits student athletes for the baseball team Performs administrative duties, including camp coordination, traveling, and executing tasks for community service or campus events Performs assigned duties in a manner consistent with the mission, goals, and core values of the college Maintains sensitivity, understanding, and respect for an academic environment including students, faculty and staff Performs other duties as assigned Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a course of study related to the occupational field Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one (1) to two (2) years Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license for the type of vehicle or equipment operated Proposed Salary $40,000 annually Required Documents To Attach Resume Optional Documents to Attach Cover Letter Transcripts Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Knowledge of college-level athletic program management principles Knowledge of sports field maintenance principles Knowledge of baseball rules and procedures Knowledge of National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC), and National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) rules and regulations Knowledge of National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association (GCAA) Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs Skill in the coaching and training of student athletes Skill in the analysis of problems and the development and implementation of solutions Skill in oral and written communication Contact Information For more information or questions about a job posting, please contact Human Resources by email at View email address on click.appcast.io.
