Board Certified Behavior Analyst Job Class: 0784 Board Certified Behavioral Analyst Salary Range: $116,136.00 - $152,455.00/annually Length of Appointment: 2026-2027 SY Calendar: School Term Essential Duties Consults with staff concerning appropriate learning strategies and positive behavior interventions, to support students in accessing instruction and making academic progress in the least restrictive environment. Plans and oversees the development and implementation of programs, policies, and best practices related to instruction using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) for students with autism. Plans and oversees the development and implementation of programs, policies, and best practices for the management of students’ behaviors, including students with autism and emotional disturbance (ED). Plans and provides, or oversees the provision of, positive behavior management interventions and programs for students, classrooms, and school sites. Provides training to, and coordinates the work of, paraprofessionals and other staff implementing behavior interventions and programs. Conducts assessments that conform with IDEA and the California Hughes Bill to address behavior, including functional analysis assessments and functional behavior assessments. Presents a comprehensive report about assessment results at the subsequent Individualized Educational Program (IEP) team meeting. Makes recommendations to the IEP team based on assessment findings and specific to the identified disability as it relates to classroom performance and access to core curriculum. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Knowledge of San Francisco’s public schools/urban public schools and a passionate belief in the district’s commitment to instructional leadership. Strong analytics and systems thinking necessary to interpret data to inform goals and strategy, as well as build infrastructure where none exists. Ability to work effectively across multiple functions and roles within a complex organization. A proven record of effectively planning, organizing, and using resources to take action and achieve goals. The ability to learn quickly and adapt in a fast-paced environment. Outstanding organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail. A flexible, “can do” work ethic focused on identifying challenges and proactively finding solutions. Excellent data analysis skills and experience synthesizing data to drive action steps. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with senior level staff and colleagues. Effective written and verbal communication and the ability to clearly communicate complex, bureaucratic processes to a variety of audiences. Ability to define and implement effective HR business practices. Ability to work effectively in difficult situations that involve confidential and sensitive matters. Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and GSuite (Google Docs, Slides, Sheets, Forms). Minimum Qualifications A valid California credential with Board Certified Behavior Analyst Authorization required.
