Assistant/Associate Professor

The Division of Hematology, Oncology and Transplantation at the University of Minnesota is seeking a board-certified/board-eligible Medical Oncologist with a focus on sarcoma to join the faculty at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank on an academic or clinician-investigator track. Applications are welcomed from both established academic oncologists and graduating fellows interested in building careers in sarcoma oncology. Position Highlights: Leadership and Program Building: Help shape the future of sarcoma oncology at the University of Minnesota by leading innovative clinical trials and translational research initiatives, mentoring fellows and junior faculty, and contributing to multidisciplinary program development. Collaborative Environment: Work alongside a highly integrated team of orthopedic oncologists, pediatric oncologists, radiation oncologists, pathologists, and basic scientists supported by robust multidisciplinary tumor boards and state-of-the-art research infrastructure. Research Excellence: Leverage the active Sarcoma Translational Working Group, which fosters collaboration between laboratory scientists and clinicians to rapidly translate discoveries into patient care. About the Division: The University of Minnesota Sarcoma Program is a nationally recognized leader in the treatment of bone and soft tissue malignancies. The program provides comprehensive care for patients with rare and complex cancers and is known for its innovation in limb-sparing surgery, comparative oncology, and translational sarcoma research. Faculty have the opportunity to contribute to a growing program committed to advancing treatment options and improving outcomes for patients with sarcoma through clinical excellence, research, and education. The Division of Hematology, Oncology & Transplantation includes more than 50 faculty members across malignant hematology, blood and marrow transplantation, classical hematology, and solid tumor oncology. Faculty are nationally and internationally recognized for contributions in cellular therapy, immunotherapy, translational oncology, and clinical trial innovation. The division holds active NIH and American Society of Hematology training grants and maintains a deep commitment to mentoring the next generation of oncology investigators. Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited ACGME Internal Medicine residency and Hematology/Oncology fellowship training program. Board eligible/certified in Medical Oncology. Licensed or ability to acquire medical license and DEA in the State of Minnesota, and meet thresholdcriteria/qualificationsfor credentialing and privileges. Ability to receive work authorization in the United States from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and maintain legal status according to the requirements of the VISA. Preferred Qualifications: Clinical and translational research experience, particularly in sarcoma or related solid tumors. A track record of research productivity and independent or collaborative funding. Interest in developing and leading disease-focused clinical trials. Pay and Benefits: This role is dually employed by University of Minnesota Physicians and the University of Minnesota. Total salary is market competitive and based on AAMC salary benchmarks. Clinical salary, aligned with clinical effort, is provided through M Physicians. The base salary range for this position is $285,000–$465,407 commensurate with experience, qualifications, and cFTE.
