Psychiatric Registered NurseNorth Shore - PITTSBURGH, PA 15212OverviewSalary Range $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 Salary/year Position Type Full Time Job Shift Day Travel Percentage NoneDescriptionThe role of the Psych Registered Nurse is to assess and speak to patients about their condition and discuss the best way to plan and deliver their care. Build relationships with patients to encourage trust while listening to and interpreting their needs and concerns.General Duties and Responsibilities:Provide nursing care to psychiatric patientsProvide psychological support to patients and their familiesConduct individual and group psychoeducation, including patients' support systemsReview chartsMonitor patient progress and document changes to behavior or healthMonitor adherence to treatment regimensAdminister medications or treatments as directedTake patient vitals and perform injections for patients when neededCrisis assessment and planningTriage incoming calls from patients and the call centerCollaborate with physicians and advanced practice providers, therapists, and other members of behavioral health and medical teams on psychiatric intervention plansSupport providers with any assigned duties, i.e., prescription refills, prior authorizations, etc.Document in the electronic health record (EHR)Monitor patients' lab results and notify prescribers of urgent concerns to coordinate treatment and care ASAPReview and explain lab results to patients.Collaborate with the lab to ensure results reported to the state and local health departments properlyReceive and respond to patient email inquiries regarding different medical servicesComplete letters for patients to return to workUnderstand and Educate patients on HARM reduction techniques.Assist in maintaining a safe environment for patients and staff.All other duties as assigned.QualificationsMinimum Qualifications and/or Experience:Active Registered Nursing LicensePsychiatric Mental Health Nursing CertificationCPR certificationRequirements:Strong communication skills with both professionals and patients from all demographicsAbility to work in a fast paced and, at times, excited atmosphereEmphasis on HARM reductionTrauma-informed Non-judgmental approach to patient careTechnical skills with required office equipmentCompletely understand the healthcare privacy laws as outlined in HIPAALGBTQ+ cultural competencyAbility to adapt to a work environment that is constantly changing and not always structured.Punctuality and impeccable attendancePatience and great attention to detailAbility to collaborate with a large clinical teamAbility to multi-task
