Senior HVAC Installer — Founding Team MemberOne Hour Heating & Air Conditioning of South Akron is a newly opened franchise location bringing trusted, national-brand HVAC service to Southern Akron and we're looking for an experienced Senior Service Technician to help us build it right from the ground up. You'll be one of our founding team members, setting the standard for craftsmanship and customer service as we grow, and mentoring the technicians and apprentices who join after you. We're looking for someone who's not just skilled with their hands, but who takes pride in developing others.What You'll DoDiagnose and repair furnaces, boilers, heat pumps, air conditioners, and ductwork on residential systemsHandle the most complex and challenging service calls, including second-opinion and escalated diagnosticsPerform routine and preventative maintenance, and install new HVAC equipment as needed until we grow large enough to specializeMentor and coach newer technicians and apprentices — teaching diagnostic approach, technique, and professionalism, not just tasksHelp train incoming team members on company standards, safety protocols, and customer service expectations as the location growsCommunicate clearly with customers about system issues, repair options, and pricingMaintain accurate service records, including work performed and parts usedFollow all safety protocols and local/state code requirementsParticipate in an on-call rotation for emergency service calls (seasonal, as needed)Keep your service vehicle stocked, organized, and well-maintainedWhat We're Looking For5+ years of hands-on HVAC service/repair experience required — we're looking for a seasoned technician, not an entry-level hireDemonstrated ability to train, coach, or mentor less experienced techniciansEPA 608 Certification requiredValid driver's license with a clean driving recordDeep working knowledge of electrical, refrigeration, and gas systems across a wide range of equipment types and brandsStrong troubleshooting skills, sound judgment, and the ability to make the right call under pressureComfortable working in tight spaces, attics, crawlspaces, and outdoor conditions year-round (Ohio weather included!)Excellent customer service and communication skills — you'll often be the face of a brand-new location in the communityAbility to lift up to 75 lbs and work on ladders/rooftopsStrongly preferred:NATE certificationOhio HVAC contractor license, or desire and ability to obtainPrior experience as a lead technician, trainer, or crew supervisorExperience with smart thermostats and modern controlsCompensation & BenefitsPay: Competitive hourly/salary rate, commensurate with experiencePerformance Incentives: Share in the company's successHealth Coverage: Medical, dental, and vision insuranceRetirement: 401(k) with company matchPaid Time Off: Paid vacation, sick time, and holidaysVehicle & Tools: Company vehicle, and tools provided or tool allowanceTraining: Ongoing paid training and support for certifications (NATE, EPA renewals, manufacturer trainings)Overtime & On-Call Pay: Overtime opportunities and additional pay for on-call/emergency serviceUniforms: Company-provided uniformsGrowth: As a founding team member, you're first in line for advancement into Lead Technician, Field Supervisor, or Operations roles as the location expandsScheduleFull-time, Monday–Friday with seasonal on-call rotation for emergency HVAC calls (nights/weekends as needed).
