This full-time role spans five days a week and centers on making a true difference in the lives of high school students with varying needs.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Special Education is required
- Valid Connecticut Special Education Teaching License
- Strong background in designing, implementing, and evaluating IEPs
- Familiarity with high school age learners and secondary curriculum
- Excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver individualized instruction to students with special needs
- Manage a unique caseload and tailor educational plans for individual growth
- Participate in IEP meetings, progress monitoring, and family conferences
- Create an inclusive and positive learning atmosphere
- Collaborate proactively with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff
- Adapt instructional strategies to address student strengths and challenges
- Maintain accurate, thorough records and comply with all state and federal guidelines
