Hours: full-time (37.5 hours per week), with full-time benefits, Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5 PM
Location: Lynchburg VA, 24501
Position Summary
The Clinical Coordinator (LMHP) in Admissions will provide both administrative and clinical oversight to a team of Admission Clinicians responsible for the preliminary assessment and intake of individuals into Horizon Behavioral Health's service portfolios. The Clinical Coordinator will also coordinate with community stakeholders that provide referrals as well as and is responsible for triage during Open Access hours. This position primarily works on-site but will have some opportunities for remote work depending on program needs.
Required Education and Experience
- Master’s Degree from a program that prepares individuals to practice counseling (60-hr Master’s Program), which is offered by a college or university accredited by a regional accrediting agency. (Re: 54.1-3500 of the Code of Virginia)
- Two years of post-licensure clinical experience and one year of supervisory experience, preferably in a mental health setting.
- Licensed Mental Health Professional (LMHP); Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
Related Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of the principles, procedures, techniques, trends, and literature related to mental health, developmental disabilities and substance abuse.
•Knowledge of clinical supervision requirements and techniques.
•Knowledge of treatment modalities and intervention techniques, such as behavior management,
independent living skills, training, supportive counseling, family education, crisis intervention, discharge planning and service coordination;
•Knowledge of psychiatric/medical medications/treatments.
•Effectively manage employee performance, communicate expectations, and objectively rate performance of assigned employees.
•Analyze situations accurately and develop appropriate responses or techniques.
•Communicate effectively in order to facilitate treatment and relay information to others as part of an interdisciplinary team.
•Ability to perform clinical interviews in order to obtain information and to formulate appropriate treatment plans.
•Ability to address performance concerns in a constructive manner.
•Ability to develop and maintain therapeutic relationships.
•Ability to promote positive, collaborative, and professional working relations among co-workers and representatives in the community.
•Ability to respond effectively to changes in the work environment in a positive and professional manner.
•Willing and available to work modified schedules (weekends, holiday, etc.) as required.
•Ability to participate in and successfully pass behavioral intervention training; includes both verbal de-escalation skills and physical skills techniques to be utilized with consumers as needed.
•Ability to drive and must possess a valid driver’s license. May be called upon to travel to any Horizon worksite; transport clients, provide services to client at other locations. Regular attendance at trainings and Horizon meetings may require travel to a variety of Horizon sites.
