Clinical Director

Clinical Director – Nursing Services Good Samaritan Hospice seeks a compassionate, strategic, and experienced nurse leader to join our team as the Clinical Director – Nursing Services. This role is essential in guiding nursing teams, ensuring exceptional patient care, and fostering a culture rooted in compassion, collaboration, and excellence. As a Clinical Director, you will lead with both heart and expertise, supporting our teams while ensuring the highest standards of care for those we serve. What You Will Do Lead and oversee daily nursing operations, ensuring high‑quality, compliant, and compassionate care. Supervise, mentor, and develop nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, and Hospice Aides. Coordinate staffing and patient assignments to ensure continuity and appropriate levels of care. Partner with the Interdisciplinary Team to support patient‑centered care planning and outcomes. Conduct team meetings, one‑on‑ones, and performance evaluations to support growth and accountability. Ensure compliance with Medicare Conditions of Participation and all state and federal regulations. Monitor documentation, billing‑related records, and clinical practices for accuracy and efficiency. Collaborate with executive and regional leadership to achieve departmental and organizational goals. Drive quality improvement initiatives and foster a culture of excellence, teamwork, and accountability. Support hiring, onboarding, and ongoing education of nursing staff in partnership with HR and Education teams. What We Are Looking For Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related field required. Active, unencumbered Virginia RN license (or compact license with VA conversion within 90 days). Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, including: At least 2 years in hospice care. At least 2 years in a nursing leadership or management role. CHPN certification (or willingness to obtain within 2 years). Strong knowledge of hospice regulations, healthcare operations, and clinical best practices. Proven leadership skills with the ability to coach, develop, and inspire teams. Excellent communication, critical thinking, and decision‑making abilities. Experience with EMR systems and comfort with technology. Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and current insurance. Schedule & Benefits Schedule: Full‑time, primarily Monday–Friday business hours with leadership responsibilities as needed.
