Have a few weekdays or weekend days free on Long Island and love dogs?

Dan’s Pet Care is hiring part-time Pet Care Specialist employees to walk neighborhood dogs and do drop‑in visits on daytime routes across the North Shore of Nassau County and nearby areas.

This is perfect if you want 10 to 25 hours per week of consistent, active work instead of sitting behind a desk.

You’ll spend your shifts visiting pets in their homes, taking dogs for walks, giving food, water, and medication as instructed, and sending quick photo updates to their humans. You’ll be backed by our 24-hour staffed, cage‑free facility in Glen Cove , so you’re never on your own if something comes up.

What You’ll Do

• Visit clients’ homes for scheduled dog walks and pet sitting visits
• Walk dogs of all sizes safely on leash in local neighborhoods
• Follow detailed care instructions for each pet (feeding, medication, routines)
• Drive between appointments within our service area
• Use our app on your smartphone to check in and out and send visit notes and photos
• Monitor pets for any signs of stress or illness and report concerns promptly
• Build long‑term, trusting relationships with pet parents on your route

What You Get

• Part-time employment as a company employee, not a contractor, with a stable, supportive team
• Paid training before your first solo shift
• Eligibility for paid time off , paid sick time, and 401(k) based on hours and tenure
• Gas stipend and paid travel time between appointments
• Consistent weekday routes that can be built around your existing schedule
• Support from a 24-hour staffed team in Glen Cove
• Opportunities to add more hours or grow into a larger role over time
• Employee discounts on Dan’s Pet Care services

Pay: 18.00 to 19.50 dollars per hour, depending on experience and route mix, plus a 1.25 dollar gas stipend per visit.
Typical part‑time schedules range from 10 to 25 hours per week, with most routes built on weekday daytime hours. What You Bring

You’ll be a great fit if you:

• Love animals , especially dogs, and are comfortable with both large and small breeds
• Are able to walk and be on your feet for extended periods in all kinds of weather
• Show up on time, every time, and treat this as a real, professional job (even if it’s part‑time)
• Live within or very close to our North Shore Nassau County service area
• Are willing to drive to multiple nearby towns during your shift
• Have your own insured vehicle that can safely transport dogs on some visits
• Own a smartphone (iPhone or Android) and are comfortable using apps
• Can commit to a consistent part-time schedule, with weekday daytime hours most in demand (some evening or weekend hours are a plus but not required)
