Our client, an established  manufacturing company in Norton Shores, MI , is seeking a hands-on  Quality Lead to take ownership of day-to-day quality activities while supporting the continued growth of the operation.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys being directly involved in quality rather than sitting behind a desk. The Quality Lead will perform inspections, work with measurement and CMM equipment, oversee calibration activities, maintain quality documentation, and help improve inspection processes. You'll also provide guidance to other quality personnel and work closely with production leadership to resolve quality concerns.

While this is a leadership-level opportunity, our client is looking for someone who is willing to  roll up their sleeves and perform the work . Practical manufacturing and quality experience is more important than having a specific degree or management title.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day quality and inspection activities within the manufacturing operation.
• Perform dimensional and visual inspections of in-process and completed parts.
• Operate CMM and other inspection and measurement equipment.
• Manage gauge and equipment calibration activities.
• Maintain accurate inspection records and quality documentation.
• Develop and improve in-process inspection checklists and work instructions.
• Provide guidance and support to other quality personnel.
• Work closely with production employees and leadership to identify and resolve quality concerns.
• Assist with quality system and compliance requirements.
• Investigate quality issues and support corrective actions.
• Ensure products meet applicable specifications and customer requirements.
• Take ownership of quality issues from identification through resolution.
• Develop into a more customer-facing quality resource as needed.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience performing dimensional and visual inspections.
• Experience with gauges, measurement equipment, and calibration.
• Ability to read and interpret prints, specifications, tolerances, and inspection requirements.
• Strong understanding of precision measurement and inspection practices.
