Moderate needs teachers are responsible for the provision of an individualized service delivery model that primarily utilizes inclusive practices through a combination of special education support provided in and outside of the general classroom environment. Candidates should have demonstrated knowledge and skill regarding the components of effective instruction, the assimilation of technology into the learning environment, and the ability to individualize instruction based on cognitive, social, emotional, and adaptive functioning. Additionally, applicants should have demonstrated knowledge of child development, behavior management in the context of a general classroom or small group environment, consultation, and developmental needs of school-aged children and adolescents.
