The attorney will handle general liability, product liability, premises liability, and catastrophic injury matters while assuming meaningful responsibility throughout the litigation lifecycle. This position is suited for an associate with substantial experience in discovery, depositions, motion practice, hearings, mediation, and trial preparation who can independently manage a varied caseload. Key Responsibilities Manage a caseload of approximately 10-20 matters. Handle general liability and insurance defense litigation. Work on product liability matters. Defend premises liability and catastrophic injury claims. Investigate claims and develop effective case strategies. Draft and respond to written discovery. Review and analyze documents for production. Conduct detailed legal research using Westlaw. Take and defend depositions. Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation documents. Attend court hearings and argue motions. Prepare pre-trial and trial documents. Prepare cases for mediation and trial. Participate in mediations and trials. Maintain effective communication with clients regarding case developments and strategy. Manage deadlines and competing priorities across multiple matters. Qualifications 2-6 years of litigation experience. Admission to the Illinois Bar. Extensive experience across multiple phases of litigation. Experience with depositions, discovery, and motion practice. Strong pre-trial preparation capabilities. Exceptional legal research and writing skills.
